The most frequent cause of astigmatism is a corneal irregularity. This test allows us to find out if a patient has astigmatism as well as to place it on its axis.<\/p>\n<h4>HOW TO CARRY OUT THE ASTIGMATISM TEST<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please place yourself about a metre away from the screen. Cover one eye and stare at the figure. Observe if any of the lines shown underneath appear sharper than the rest of them. If a line appears sharper than the other ones do, you probably have astigmatism. The higher is your astigmatism degree, the worse you will see the other lines.
